Yoga Studios & Teachers I Love in Philadelphia, Bucks & Montgomery County, NJ & NYC

My teacher, Sri Dharma Mittra, often says:
“There is a teacher for everyone.”
And while I would love to be your teacher, depending on schedules (my schedule here) or location, that might not always be possible.
For my own practice — aside from my studies with Dharma — I actually love exploring different studios and teachers. Each teacher brings their own perspective, rhythm, and movement patterns, and I always enjoy learning something new.
So I thought it might be helpful to share a few of my favorite studios and teachers across the Philadelphia, New Jersey, and New York area.
What I look for in a yoga studio: thoughtful teaching, a warm and welcoming community, and a space where students can explore and grow. (Oh, and I love a good classical lineage!)
Except for Dharma Yoga NYC (which will always be my home base), these are listed in no particular order. And just to note: I haven’t taken every teacher at every studio listed — I’m simply sharing the teachers I’ve personally practiced with and enjoyed.
⸻
NEW YORK
Teacher: Sri Dharma Mittra
Location: NYC + Online
This is my primary lineage and where I continue my studies. Dharma’s classes are deeply rooted in traditional Hatha-Raja Yoga and integrate asana, pranayama, meditation, and philosophy.
⸻
PENNSYLVANIA
Teachers: Shari, Melissa
Location: Doylestown, PA
If you’re new to Ashtanga and in the area, I highly recommend this studio. It offers grace for newer students and isn’t as strict as some Ashtanga environments, allowing for things like blocks and practice sheets.
Teacher: Pasquale
Location: Rockledge, PA
Pasquale studied under Manju Jois. While he has his own sequence, his focus on breath, longer holds, and meditative practice deeply honors the Ashtanga tradition.
Teachers: Jesi, Pasquale
Location: Jenkintown, PA
Primarily a Bikram (26+2) studio, they also offer other styles such as Vinyasa. If you’re looking for a classic hot yoga experience with a strong community feel, this is a great spot.
Teacher: Senthil
Location: Feasterville, PA
I never thought I would find a “traditional” yoga teacher in a gym setting, but I was deeply wrong. Senthil was a student of Sri Swami Satchidananda. If that name sounds familiar, he is the author of one of the most well-known translations of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. Senthil teaches classical Hatha yoga.
Teacher: Karin
Location: Doylestown, Pa
If I lived closer, I would be a member of this gym as they have a dedicated Iyengar room which isn’t that easy to find. Karin is seasoned practitioner. If you’re looking for help on alignment, she has the class.
Teachers: Erica (Vinyasa), John (Baptiste), Jaime (Power)
Location: Horsham, PA
A hot yoga studio offering a wide variety of classes and styles.
⸻
NEW JERSEY
Teachers: Katya
Location: Hoboken, NJ
A beautiful studio space with a wide range of offerings — everything from Dharma to Ashtanga to Yin and more. Also be on the lookout for their amazing guest teachers, workshops, and trainings.
Teachers: Lisa, Dov
Location: Bradley Beach
A beach-town studio with a welcoming energy and thoughtful programming. Dov, one of the creators of the Dharma Wheel, also pops up from time to time for master classes and workshops.

Yoga is ultimately about connection and community. One of the things I love most about the yoga world is how many thoughtful teachers and beautiful spaces exist — each with their own perspective and energy.
If you visit any of the studios listed here, feel free to tell them Andrea from Sol Luna Life sent you. Supporting one another is how these communities continue to grow.
If you’re a teacher or studio owner reading this and would like to connect, collaborate, or host a workshop together, I would love to hear from you.
And of course (shameless plug), if you’d like to practice with me in person or online, you can find my currency class schedule HERE.
